Joel Simmons has successfully partnered with multiple boards, teams, crews, praise and worship establishments, committees, and entrepreneurs. Most notably, he has served as a lead lieutenant fireman for 19 years and as an assistant pastor for the local United House of Prayer. Mr. Simmons is passionate about aiding and bolstering his community, especially families and youth. He has worked alongside the National Federation of Families and the Riviera Beach Youth Explosion, and he has created multiple youth groups. In conjunction with his community service, Mr. Simmons also hosts a podcast (Find Your Superpower) and mentors men about marriage and fatherhood.

Rance Gaede’s professional career began with 20 years as a YMCA professional with YMCAs in Arkansas, Texas, and Florida. In 2012, he transitioned into government which has allowed him to work with volunteers, build boards and committees, and create policy. Mr. Gaede has served on various boards throughout his career, including the award-winning Riviera Beach Housing Authority, the NAYS Leadership Committee, and the AYP Regional Board. Mr. Gaede has a Bachelor’s Degree from Arkansas State University and holds certifications from the YMCA of the USA, the NRPA, NAYS, and NIMS.

Dr. Celena Johnson is the newest female board member to Thousand Oaks. She is compassionate about her community and dedicated to ensuring that the residents truly matter. Dr. Johnson is a wife, mother of three beautiful children, and most importantly, a devoted woman of God. She has been blessed to serve as an educator and a district level administrator of the Palm Beach County School District for about 20 years. She is devoted to shaping the hearts and characters of children as well as leaving an impact on the lives that she encounters on a daily basis. As Philippians 4:13 states, “I can do ALL things through Christ, who strengthens me.”

Jeffery Jackson is a decorated Marine Corps veteran who served the country at the highest level with pride and honor. Mr. Jackson attended several institutions of higher learning and received a BS in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Currently, he serves as Chair of the Thousand Oaks Community Development District, Chair of the Thousand Oaks Home Owners Association, Chair of the Riviera Beach Penny Surcharge Committee, Chair of the award-winning Riviera Beach Housing Authority, and Executive Board Member on the City of Riviera Beach C.R.A. Community Development Council. Mr. Jackson is a member of the Palm Beach Sports Commission and Executive Board Member of the Tabernacle Learning Center. Additionally, in 2000, he joined Federation of Families Florida Inc., an organization geared toward supporting at-risk youth and families with mental illness. In his spare time Mr. Jackson enjoys coaching youth sports, mentoring, performing community service activities (particularly those initiatives that target youth and seniors), and attending sporting events.
